Sales Development Representative

What This Role Involves

As a Sales Development Representative at Workiva, you'll own the early stage of the sales cycle—identifying and engaging prospective customers who need cloud-based compliance solutions. You'll conduct discovery conversations, qualify leads based on defined criteria, and work closely with Account Executives to move opportunities through initial pipeline stages. This is a full-time, remote position where you'll build skills in consultative selling and navigate the enterprise market.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and identify target prospects using company data and market intelligence to build a prioritized outreach list
• Execute outbound prospecting via phone, email, and social channels to initiate conversations with decision-makers
• Conduct discovery calls to understand prospect needs, pain points, and organizational fit
• Qualify leads using defined criteria and handoff qualified opportunities to the sales team
• Maintain accurate and timely activity tracking in the CRM system and provide pipeline visibility to leadership
• Gather market feedback and collaborate with sales peers to refine messaging, targeting, and strategy

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage professionals across organizational levels
• Ability to research systematically, prioritize leads, and execute against targets in a fast-paced environment
• Resilience with rejection and a coachable mindset committed to continuous improvement
• Comfort with email, phone-based outreach, and CRM platforms; ability to learn new tools quickly
• Genuine interest in sales and the drive to develop into larger account management or leadership roles
