Workiva is seeking a Senior AV Engineer for our Ames, IA office. This full-time position offers the opportunity to design, implement, and support advanced audiovisual systems and technical infrastructure that power enterprise solutions at scale.
About This Position
As a Senior AV Engineer at Workiva in Ames, you'll take ownership of our audiovisual and technical systems infrastructure. This role combines hands-on engineering work with technical leadership, ensuring our facilities, conference systems, and media services operate reliably and securely. You'll work with cross-functional teams to design solutions that meet our organization's needs and evolving technical requirements.
Your Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain audiovisual systems for conference rooms, auditoriums, and production environments
- Manage network infrastructure supporting AV systems, including configuration and troubleshooting
- Oversee installation and integration of new AV technology and equipment
- Provide technical support and training to end users on AV system operation
- Document system configurations, procedures, and design specifications
- Collaborate with IT and facilities teams to ensure system security and compliance
- Monitor system performance and implement proactive maintenance and upgrades
- Lead projects involving multiple AV systems or complex technical requirements
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in audiovisual engineering or systems administration
- Strong knowledge of AV standards, protocols, and best practices
- Proficiency with audio, video, and control system technologies
- Experience with network configuration and troubleshooting (TCP/IP, VLANs, etc.)
- Ability to read technical specifications and work from architectural drawings
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication and documentation abilities
- Willingness to support systems on-site and participate in on-call rotations as needed
