The Opportunity
We're looking for a hands-on Safety Specialist who will be the daily advocate for safe practices across our light manufacturing environment. You'll work directly with production teams and leadership to identify risks, strengthen our safety culture, ensure compliance, and build a workplace where every employee goes home healthy and safe. This full-time role puts you at the center of continuous improvement, embedding safety into everything we do—not as a checkbox, but as a core value.
Your Responsibilities
- Conduct regular floor inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards, unsafe conditions, and opportunities for prevention
- Partner with employees and supervisors to correct unsafe behaviors and implement practical safety solutions
- Develop, update, and communicate safety policies and procedures aligned with OSHA standards and industry best practices
- Investigate incidents and near-misses, document root causes, and recommend corrective actions
- Deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and onboarding to keep the team informed and engaged
- Monitor compliance with safety protocols and track key safety metrics
- Collaborate with leadership on safety strategy and process improvements
Requirements
- Prior experience as a Safety Specialist, Safety Coordinator, or equivalent role in manufacturing or industrial settings
- Solid knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards
- Strong written and verbal communication skills—you'll train, influence, and motivate diverse teams daily
- Ability to recognize hazards, assess risk, and recommend effective solutions
- Detail-oriented mindset with excellent documentation and reporting practices
- Hands-on, proactive approach to safety and genuine commitment to injury prevention
- Proven ability to build relationships and inspire behavior change
- High school diploma or equivalent; safety certifications (OSHA 30, ASSE, or similar) are valued
