Registered Nurse Pre-Admission Testing (RN) – Assessment Center

Join Hartford Hospital as a Registered Nurse specializing in Pre-Admission Testing at our Assessment Center in Talcott Village, Hartford County. As part of Hartford HealthCare, you'll play a critical role in ensuring patients are thoroughly prepared for their upcoming surgical and clinical procedures.

About the Role

This full-time, first-shift position (40 hours per week) is based at our Assessment Center located at 85 Jefferson Street in Hartford. You'll work in a dedicated pre-admission testing environment where you'll conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, assess medical histories, and help streamline the path to successful surgery and treatment.

What You'll Do

• Perform comprehensive pre-admission assessments, including patient health history and medication reviews
• Obtain and document vital signs and perform baseline health screenings
• Coordinate diagnostic testing such as EKGs, lab work, and imaging as clinically indicated
• Provide clear, compassionate patient education about pre-procedure requirements and expectations
• Identify and escalate clinical concerns to appropriate care team members
• Maintain accurate, detailed documentation in electronic health records
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical teams to ensure seamless care coordination
• Support a high-volume assessment environment with efficiency and attention to detail

What We're Looking For

• Current Connecticut RN license (or ability to obtain licensure)
• Experience with patient assessment, vital signs, and health screening
• Strong communication skills and ability to put anxious patients at ease
• Proficiency with electronic health records and clinical documentation
• Ability to work independently while collaborating across clinical teams
• Detail-oriented approach to assessment and problem-solving
