Registered Nurse (RN) – Post Anesthesia Care Unit

About the Role

As a PACU Registered Nurse at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, you'll play a vital role in patient recovery and safety immediately following surgical procedures. You'll monitor post-operative patients during their transition from anesthesia, managing pain, vital signs, and recovery protocols while ensuring optimal outcomes and patient comfort. This position demands clinical expertise, compassion, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced surgical environment.

What You'll Do

• Monitor and assess post-operative patients, including vital signs, oxygen saturation, pain levels, and neurological status
• Administer medications and manage pain control per physician orders and hospital protocols
• Identify and respond promptly to post-operative complications or changes in patient condition
• Provide clear handoff communication to receiving nurses on inpatient units
• Educate patients and families about post-operative care and discharge instructions
• Maintain detailed, accurate documentation of patient assessments and interventions
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and interdisciplinary team members
• Ensure a safe, clean recovery environment and manage equipment

What We're Looking For

• Active Connecticut RN licensure (or ability to obtain)
• Clinical nursing experience, preferably in a post-anesthesia care unit or acute care setting
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
