About the Role
Join our clinical team as a hospitalist during 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. shifts, where you'll lead the care of acutely ill and recovering patients throughout their hospital stay. This role is ideal for clinicians who thrive in dynamic night environments and want to make a direct impact on patient recovery and safety during critical hours when experienced providers are essential.
What You'll Do
- Manage a varied census of hospitalized patients with acute medical conditions and complex care needs
- Perform thorough patient assessments, develop treatment plans, and adjust care strategies based on patient response
- Document clinical findings, diagnostic reasoning, and interventions with accuracy and timeliness
- Collaborate with nurses, respiratory therapists, and support staff to ensure coordinated, high-quality care
- Communicate with specialists and consulting physicians to optimize patient outcomes
- Respond promptly to acute changes in patient condition and clinical deterioration
- Participate in continuous quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives
What We're Looking For
- Active Connecticut license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Current BLS certification and appropriate clinical credentials
- Demonstrated experience in acute or hospitalist care settings
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently during night shifts
- Excellent communication skills and commitment to interdisciplinary teamwork
- Genuine interest in ongoing professional development and staying current with clinical practice
