About the Role

As an RN in our Medical Oncology program, you'll provide direct patient care in an outpatient or inpatient oncology setting, supporting patients through their cancer treatment journey. This is a Monday through Friday role based at our Storrs location (1244 Storrs Road, Mansfield).

What You'll Do

  • Administer chemotherapy and other cancer-directed treatments under physician supervision, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout therapy
  • Monitor patients for treatment-related side effects and implement evidence-based symptom management protocols
  • Educate patients and families about their diagnosis, treatment options, and self-care strategies during cancer therapy
  • Perform clinical assessments, maintain vital signs monitoring, and report changes in patient condition to the care team
  • Maintain accurate medical records and collaborate with interdisciplinary oncology teams including physicians, social workers, and nutritionists
  • Provide emotional support and connect patients with coping resources and survivorship programs
  • Follow evidence-based nursing protocols and maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and oncology standards

What We're Looking For

  • Current Connecticut RN license in good standing
  • Clinical nursing experience; background in medical-surgical, oncology, or acute care nursing preferred
  • Strong assessment and critical thinking skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Compassionate communication and ability to work with vulnerable patient populations
  • Ability to function independently while collaborating effectively within a team-based care environment
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in oncology nursing
