Registered Nurse (RN, GN) – Neuro Surgical

Join Hartford Hospital as a Registered Nurse in our Neurosurgical unit, located in Avon, Hartford County. This full-time position offers the opportunity to provide exceptional patient care in a specialized surgical environment where clinical expertise directly impacts patient outcomes.

About the Role

As a Registered Nurse (RN) or Graduate Nurse (GN) on our Neurosurgical team, you will deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to patients undergoing neurological and spinal procedures. Working rotating day and night shifts at our Retreat Avenue facility, you will be part of a dedicated healthcare team serving patients throughout our comprehensive system and surrounding community.

What You'll Do

• Assess, monitor, and care for neurosurgical patients before, during, and after procedures
• Administer medications, manage IV therapy, and monitor vital signs with precision
• Collaborate with neurosurgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary care teams
• Document patient care and clinical observations in electronic health records
• Educate patients and families about post-operative care and recovery expectations
• Maintain strict infection control and patient safety protocols
• Respond quickly to changing patient conditions and clinical needs

What We're Looking For

• Current Connecticut RN licensure or valid Graduate Nurse (GN) license
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced surgical environment
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous learning
