About the Role

As a Medical Science Liaison, you'll serve as a trusted scientific resource and thought partner to healthcare providers, researchers, and key opinion leaders. This is a credentialed, director-level role that bridges clinical science, product strategy, and market impact—ideal for professionals with advanced training in pharmacy, medicine, nursing, or research who want to influence patient care beyond the clinic or lab.

What You'll Do

• Build and maintain strong relationships with gastroenterologists, immunologists, and academic medical centers across your territory
• Deliver evidence-based scientific education on Merck's IBD immunology treatments and mechanisms of action
• Gather real-world clinical insights and unmet needs from frontline providers to inform product development and marketing strategy
• Develop and present scientific content, case studies, and clinical data to support provider decision-making
• Attend medical conferences, research forums, and professional meetings to stay current and network with medical thought leaders
• Document interactions, feedback, and market trends to guide Merck's strategic priorities
• Support clinical trial enrollment, physician education programs, and product launch initiatives

What We're Looking For

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), PhD, Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), or MD with strong scientific credibility
• Proven ability to communicate complex immunology and gastroenterology concepts to diverse audiences
• Demonstrated success building professional relationships and influencing medical practice
• Strategic mindset—comfortable aligning individual actions with enterprise priorities and growth objectives
• Analytical skills and comfort with CRM systems, data interpretation, and scientific literature management
• Self-motivation and ability to work independently across a regional territory
• Willingness to travel regularly within the Northeast region
