About the Role
As a Regional Medical Scientific Director, you'll serve as the scientific bridge between Merck and the healthcare community. You'll provide evidence-based medical education, build meaningful relationships with key opinion leaders and healthcare providers, and support our sales organization with expert scientific guidance on our immunology and gastrointestinal portfolios.
What You'll Do
- Deliver scientific presentations and educational sessions to healthcare professionals on immunology, IBD, and related therapies
- Engage with medical centers, research institutions, and clinical practices throughout your assigned territory
- Develop and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders and clinical specialists in gastroenterology and immunology
- Provide medical and scientific expertise to support field teams and address healthcare provider inquiries
- Synthesize clinical data and research findings into actionable scientific narratives
- Monitor and communicate emerging clinical evidence and medical literature
- Ensure all medical engagement aligns with regulatory compliance and company standards
What We're Looking For
- Advanced degree required: PhD, PharmD, DNP, or MD in a relevant scientific or medical discipline
- Strong background in immunology, gastroenterology, or related therapeutic areas
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for scientific audiences
- Experience engaging healthcare professionals and presenting complex scientific information
- Proven ability to work independently and manage your own territory
- Sound scientific judgment and credibility within the medical community
- Willingness to travel throughout the Upper Midwest region
