Rail/Transit – Design Manager

What This Role Involves

As a Design Manager, you'll oversee the strategic direction and execution of rail and transit design initiatives. This position offers the opportunity to guide multidisciplinary teams, make critical technical decisions, and deliver solutions that advance transportation infrastructure. You'll work on complex, high-impact projects that require both deep engineering expertise and leadership vision.

Responsibilities

• Lead design teams on rail and transit infrastructure projects across the New York region
• Manage project scope, timelines, and deliverables to meet client expectations
• Develop and refine design strategies that balance technical feasibility, cost efficiency, and stakeholder needs
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and clients to define project requirements and solutions
• Review and approve design work to maintain quality standards and consistency
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless project delivery

What We're Looking For

• Extensive experience in transportation design, particularly rail and transit systems
• Proven track record leading design teams and managing complex projects
• Strong understanding of rail infrastructure, design codes, and industry best practices
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, transportation, or related field
• Professional engineering license or equivalent credentials in your discipline
• Demonstrated ability to innovate and solve challenging design problems
