Pacific Northwest National Laboratory seeks an Organizational Effectiveness Consultant (I/O Psychologist) for our New York State Campus in Albany County. This full-time position applies your expertise in industrial-organizational psychology to strengthen how the laboratory operates, develops talent, and achieves strategic objectives through evidence-informed organizational development.
About the Role
Reporting to the Director of Human Capital Management, you will serve as a subject matter expert in organizational behavior and workplace psychology. You will conduct comprehensive organizational assessments, analyze performance patterns, identify underlying effectiveness drivers, and recommend strategies grounded in behavioral science research. Your work spans workforce development, organizational design, and operational improvement—directly supporting the laboratory's mission and business priorities.
What You'll Do
- Assess organizational performance and workforce dynamics using research-backed methodologies and behavioral science frameworks
- Analyze data and organizational factors to understand root causes of performance challenges and opportunities
- Develop improvement recommendations informed by I/O psychology principles and best practices
- Advise laboratory leadership on organizational effectiveness initiatives and strategic workforce strategies
- Support human resources and organizational development projects aligned with laboratory objectives
What We're Looking For
- Graduate degree in industrial-organizational psychology, organizational psychology, or closely related discipline
- Expertise in organizational assessment, data analysis, and behavioral science methodologies
- Ability to translate research findings into practical business strategy
- Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
- Track record applying psychological principles to solve organizational challenges
