Director, Data Product Owner & Data Modeling (HR / Finance / Client Domains)

BlackRock is seeking a Director, Data Product Owner & Data Modeling for its Cross-Functional Technology organization, based in Grand Central, Manhattan. In this leadership role, you'll architect and oversee data products and modeling frameworks that power decision-making across Human Resources, Finance, and Client-facing domains, driving enterprise-scale transformation through AI-enabled platforms.

About the Role

As Director of Data Product Ownership and Data Modeling, you'll lead the strategic vision, roadmap, and execution of data products and modeling initiatives that support BlackRock's most critical business functions. This position sits within our Cross-Functional Technology team, which unifies people, process, data, and technology to build scalable foundations for long-term organizational growth. You'll partner with business stakeholders, engineering leaders, and data scientists to translate complex requirements into elegant, performant data solutions that simplify enterprise decision-making and unlock operational leverage across the firm.

What You'll Do

• Define and own the data product strategy for HR, Finance, and Client Domains, including roadmap prioritization, feature definition, and success metrics
• Lead data modeling initiatives that ensure accuracy, consistency, and accessibility of critical datasets across enterprise systems
• Collaborate cross-functionally with business partners, technologists, and data engineers to gather requirements and design solutions that serve diverse organizational needs
• Drive adoption of AI-enabled capabilities that enhance data-driven insights and reduce manual decision-making overhead
• Own data quality, governance, and compliance standards within your domain portfolio
• Build and mentor a team of data product managers and data engineers to scale impact
• Report on product health, usage trends, and business impact to executive leadership

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years of experience in data product management, data engineering, or related technical leadership roles
• Demonstrated success owning end-to-end data products in large, complex enterprise environments
• Strong foundational knowledge of data modeling, relational databases, and modern data platforms
• Experience partnering with HR, Finance, or similar operational business units
• Proven ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and manage execution across teams
• Comfort with AI/ML concepts and their application to business problems
• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management experience at the director level and above
