QA Tester (Future Roles)

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is building a pipeline of experienced QA professionals for upcoming contract opportunities with a confidential software testing organization. We're seeking testers who excel at manual testing across mobile apps, web platforms, and APIs within agile environments.

Typical Project Parameters

Project Focus: Manual testing of mobile applications and APIs within agile development teams, including functional, regression, localization, and payment testing.

Duration: Contracts typically range from 6 months to 1 year, with many extending beyond initial terms. Some temporary projects evolve into ongoing arrangements.

Location: Fully remote opportunities available to candidates in Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Czech Republic, Estonia, India, Ireland, Mexico, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, or the United States.

Schedule: Both part-time and full-time contracts available. Working hours generally align with standard daytime schedules in your regional time zone (e.g., 9 AM–6 PM CST in the Americas or CET in EMEA).

Equipment Requirements: You must have access to an Android or iOS mobile device for testing purposes and maintain a reliable, high-speed internet connection. Mobile hotspots or unstable connections are not suitable.

Responsibilities

• Execute smoke, scripted, and exploratory test cases across mobile, web, and desktop platforms
• Conduct functional, localization, regression, and payment testing to ensure quality standards are met
• Reproduce and document issues discovered during testing cycles
• Report test results, bugs, and potential risks with clear communication to development teams and stakeholders
• Configure and prepare test environments according to provided specifications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of quality software products
• Design and optimize test data sets as needed
• Provide constructive feedback on test case quality and efficiency
• Stay current with industry trends and advancements in testing methodologies

What We're Looking For

Technical Requirements:

• 2+ years of proven experience as a Software Tester or similar role
• Strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and tools (Jira, TestRail, Xray, or similar)
• Experience with mobile and web application frontend testing; backend testing experience is a bonus
• Proficiency in identifying and documenting software defects
• Ability to handle basic technical tasks: test data generation, log capturing, working with browser developer tools, network log analyzers
• Demonstrated experience working in agile teams within remote environments
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and other stakeholders
• Solid understanding of SDLC processes
• Experience with functional and regression testing categories
• Familiarity with API testing tools (Charles, Insomnia, Postman) is a strong plus
• BBST course certifications (Foundations, Bug Advocacy, Test Design, Domain Testing) or similar credentials are beneficial but not required
• Minor scripting or programming experience is a plus
