Proposal Engineer

Signode, a global manufacturing and packaging solutions leader, is seeking a full-time Proposal Engineer for our Roselle, Illinois facility. This role combines technical expertise with business development support on an in-person team.

Join Signode as a Proposal Engineer and make your mark on high-value industrial projects. Based at our Roselle, IL location, you'll bridge the gap between customer needs, engineering capabilities, and production realities. This indirect engineering position puts you at the center of proposal development, where your technical knowledge and communication skills directly influence which projects we pursue and how we position ourselves competitively. You'll work closely with sales, engineering, and manufacturing teams to shape winning proposals that launch successful customer relationships.

What You'll Do

• Develop technical proposals and engineering documentation tailored to customer project requirements
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, and production teams to assess project feasibility, scope, and timeline
• Gather and clarify technical requirements from clients and internal stakeholders
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and technical specifications aligned with our manufacturing capabilities
• Review proposals for technical accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal standards
• Support the sales team through bid preparation, competitive analysis, and project transition phases

What You Bring

• Engineering background or equivalent experience in manufacturing, production, or technical operations
• Strong technical writing abilities and clear communication across diverse audiences
• Experience developing proposals, technical documentation, or engineering specifications
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively across sales, engineering, and operations functions
• Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in technical work
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes, production environments, or industrial equipment
