Counter Salesperson

Join EMCO Corporation as a Counter Salesperson in Thunder Bay, ON. This is a full-time position where you'll serve customers at our plumbing and building supply counter, providing expert product knowledge and exceptional service to both retail and trade customers visiting our location.

About the Role

As a Counter Salesperson at EMCO Corporation in Thunder Bay, you'll be the front-line representative helping customers find the right plumbing supplies, fixtures, and materials for their projects. Whether assisting homeowners, contractors, or maintenance professionals, you'll combine product expertise with genuine customer service to drive sales and build lasting relationships in our Thunder Bay community.

Your Responsibilities

• Greet customers and assess their plumbing and building supply needs
• Recommend appropriate products based on project requirements, budget, and application
• Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently at the counter
• Maintain product knowledge across our inventory and communicate specifications, pricing, and availability
• Handle customer inquiries by telephone, in person, and through other communication channels
• Stock shelves, organize inventory, and keep the sales floor clean and well-organized
• Build customer relationships and identify opportunities for repeat business
• Assist with receiving, counting, and verifying incoming shipments

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous retail or customer service experience (preferred but not required)
• Basic knowledge of plumbing products, materials, or construction (or willingness to learn)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work cooperatively within a team environment
• Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and basic computer skills
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to customer satisfaction
• Physical ability to lift, carry, and organize materials and merchandise
