OPS is hiring a full-time Property Book Custodian to join our Fort George G Meade operations in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. In this on-site role, you'll own the stewardship of government assets and ensure all property and equipment remain in compliance with Department of Defense standards.
About the Role
As Property Book Custodian, you will be the primary steward of government property and equipment under the Defense Information School (DINFOS) Technology & Logistics Support Services contract. This is a mission-critical position that keeps track of valuable assets while maintaining the rigorous documentation standards the military requires.
What You'll Do
- Track, document, and maintain accountability records for all government-owned property and equipment
- Conduct regular inventory audits to verify asset location, condition, and status
- Ensure all property records align with Department of Defense regulations and internal procedures
- Process property transfers, disposals, and acquisitions with complete accuracy
- Generate reports and documentation to support property management compliance audits
- Identify discrepancies and work with leadership to resolve inventory variances
- Maintain organized, up-to-date property management systems and databases
What We're Looking For
- Experience managing property inventory and asset accountability in a government or military environment
- Strong knowledge of Department of Defense property management regulations
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping
- Proficiency with property management software and databases
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and maintain complex documentation systems
