Product Manager – Payments

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential SaaS organization in their search for a Product Manager – Payments based in London. Our client operates a high-volume commerce platform serving tens of thousands of users globally, and they're seeking a strategic, execution-focused product leader to own and scale their payments infrastructure.

This is a remote role open to candidates based in Europe. You'll be responsible for driving the end-to-end payments product strategy—from checkout optimization and gateway integrations to fraud prevention, compliance, and global scalability. Responsibilities

• Own and execute the product strategy and roadmap for the payments ecosystem, including checkout, payment gateways, transaction routing, fraud management, refunds, treasury, and reconciliation
• Define, prioritize, and deliver features that improve conversion rates, reduce friction, and support global expansion
• Partner with engineering and design teams to deliver high-quality user experiences and robust back-end systems
• Integrate and maintain third-party payment providers and explore new payment methods such as local options, digital wallets, and bank debits
• Ensure all payment solutions meet regulatory requirements including PCI, PSD2, and SCA
• Monitor performance, adoption, and reliability of payment systems using data and user feedback
• Collaborate with customer success and support teams to identify and resolve user pain points related to payments
• Stay informed about global payment trends, technologies, and fintech regulations, bringing forward ideas that align with business growth

What We're Looking For

• Proven track record building and scaling payments systems in a SaaS, fintech, or eCommerce environment
• Deep understanding of payment infrastructure including gateway integrations, card networks, fraud prevention, settlements, and chargebacks
• Strong technical fluency—comfortable working closely with engineers and interpreting API documentation
• Excellent communication, prioritization, and stakeholder management skills
• Strong data-driven mindset with the ability to track metrics, measure performance, and iterate quickly based on insights
• 3–5+ years of experience as a Product Manager, ideally with direct ownership over payment products or platforms
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline preferred (equivalent practical experience in product management, payments, or fintech may substitute for formal education)
• Experience working in agile, cross-functional teams with a focus on delivering customer-centric solutions
• Experience with global payment methods, subscriptions, recurring billing, or tax compliance tools is a strong plus
• Experience with payments orchestration systems and/or treasury systems is considered a plus
• Experience using AI agents and implementing AI tools is highly desirable
• Product management certifications (Pragmatic, AIPMM, CSPO) or fintech/payments certifications (ETA CPP) are a plus but not mandatory
