Our client operates across the United States and provides critical insurance solutions in the healthcare and risk management space. This role offers the opportunity to apply your clinical expertise in a unique insurance environment, assessing medical risk and cost projections that directly impact underwriting and claims decisions.

Responsibilities

• Assess medical cost and clinical data utilizing multiple data sources and various software platforms
• Provide risk assessment and cost projections for underwriting and claims based on medical condition, treatment plans, and drug costs
• Stay current with the latest medical advancements and their impact on cost projections and recommendations
• Apply strong medical knowledge including International Classification of Diseases (ICD), Current Procedural Terminology (CPT), medical terminology, COBRA, and HIPAA regulations
• Collaborate with third-party administrators (TPAs) and understand their operational requirements
• Work within medical stop loss insurance frameworks to support business objectives

What We're Looking For

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) designation (required)
• 5 years of relevant and progressive clinical experience, preferably in acute care or managed care settings
• Strong medical knowledge, including ICD, CPT, medical terminology, COBRA, and HIPAA
• Understanding of third-party administrator (TPA) and managing general underwriter (MGU) operations
• Knowledge of carrier and reinsurer reporting and contractual requirements
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy
• Exceptional organizational and analytical skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Proactive approach to staying informed about industry changes, legal updates, and technical developments
