Product Designer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a fast-growing AI productivity company at a formational stage. Our client is building intelligent tools that help users work more effectively through automation, personalisation, and real-time assistance. They're a small, focused team that has achieved significant traction, and they need a senior product design voice to shape how their platform evolves.

This is a Lead Product Designer role based in London. You'll report to the Head of Product and work as the most senior design hire, collaborating directly with engineers to shape both the product roadmap and the company's approach to understanding users. This isn't a role where you'll execute someone else's vision—you'll own the design direction and have genuine influence over what gets built.

Responsibilities

• Lead product design decisions across the platform, starting from user behaviour and working back to interface solutions
• Design complex AI-powered workflows that feel intuitive and calm despite technical sophistication underneath
• Work directly with engineering to ship high-quality experiences at pace, understanding technical constraints and implementation realities
• Conduct user research independently—running interviews, analysing session recordings, and using insights to inform design choices
• Build and evolve design systems that integrate with modern AI-assisted engineering workflows
• Own interaction design across multiple surfaces including dashboards, real-time transcription tools, and personalised content generation
• Collaborate with a creative designer already on the team while establishing product design standards and processes

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of product design experience in high-growth, early-stage environments where you helped build structure rather than inherited it
• Deep understanding of user motivation, habits, and friction—you think in human behaviour before thinking in screens
• Strong technical fluency: you can have real conversations with engineers about constraints and trade-offs
• Proven ability to run your own research and use findings to defend or pivot design decisions
• Experience designing AI-powered or complex productivity tools where the interface simplifies genuine technical complexity
• Comfort working at high velocity, using AI tools to accelerate your work, and knowing when rigour matters versus when to unblock with an MVP
• Nice to have: experience making design changes directly in code

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: £100,000–£140,000 plus equity
