Join Iroquois Special Education Cooperative as a Physical Education Teacher at Bryce Ash Grove Center in Milford, Iroquois County. We are seeking a dedicated, licensed educator to design and deliver engaging PE programming for students with diverse learning needs in a supportive, structured environment.
About the Role
As our Physical Education Teacher, you will develop and implement comprehensive fitness and movement instruction tailored to each student's individual goals and abilities. Your role centers on creating inclusive, developmentally appropriate lessons that promote physical wellness, motor skill development, and lifelong fitness habits. You'll use ongoing assessment and performance data to refine instruction and ensure measurable student progress throughout the school year.
What You'll Do
- Design PE curriculum aligned with Illinois Learning Standards for Physical Education
- Conduct frequent student assessments and analyze data to guide instructional decisions
- Teach age- and ability-appropriate movement, fitness, and sports skills in a structured setting
- Create an inclusive, supportive classroom environment that fosters student confidence and participation
- Collaborate with special education staff, occupational therapists, and families to support whole-child development
- Document student progress and communicate outcomes with administrators and parents
What We're Looking For
- Valid Illinois teaching license in Physical Education
- Experience or strong interest in teaching students with developmental, behavioral, or cognitive disabilities
- Demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction and adapt lessons for varying ability levels
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with students, families, and colleagues
- Commitment to creating an emotionally safe, data-driven learning environment
