Photography Instructor Pool-Part-Time

Nocccd is seeking a Photography Instructor for our part-time faculty pool in Anaheim, Orange County. In this role, you'll deliver engaging photography instruction to students across multiple class formats and programs.

Position Summary

This part-time position offers the opportunity to teach photography to community college students in a dynamic educational setting. You'll guide students in photographic principles, technical skills, and creative expression. Instruction may occur during day or evening hours and can be delivered in traditional classroom settings, online platforms, or hybrid formats. You may also have the opportunity to participate in dual enrollment programs, bringing college-level instruction to high school students in our region.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver photography course content aligned with institutional standards and student learning outcomes
• Teach photography fundamentals, including composition, lighting, exposure, and equipment operation
• Provide constructive feedback and assessment of student photography work
• Adapt instructional methods to accommodate various learning styles and skill levels
• Maintain accurate attendance records, grade documentation, and student progress assessments
• Participate in departmental meetings and professional development as required
• Instruct courses in online, hybrid, or in-person formats according to district scheduling needs

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in photography, fine arts, visual communications, or related field, or equivalent professional photography experience
• Demonstrated mastery of photography techniques and processes, including digital and traditional methods
• Prior experience teaching photography or visual arts at the secondary or post-secondary level
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with photography equipment, editing software, and learning management systems
• Ability to engage diverse student populations and foster an inclusive learning environment
