Tubbs & Sons Ford Sales is hiring a full-time Service Writer in Colby, Thomas County to serve as the primary customer liaison and intake specialist for our Ford service department.
About the Role
As a Service Writer at our Colby automotive service center, you'll be the vital connection between vehicle owners and our technical team. You'll greet customers, understand their service needs, document vehicle information accurately, and ensure clear communication from intake through final vehicle delivery. Your role directly impacts customer satisfaction and operational efficiency in our service department.
What You'll Do
- Welcome customers and listen to their vehicle concerns and service requests
- Inspect vehicles with owners and prepare detailed work orders
- Explain repair recommendations and provide cost estimates
- Coordinate with service technicians and managers throughout the repair process
- Monitor vehicle status and keep customers informed of progress
- Process payment and manage customer billing and documentation
- Prepare vehicles for handoff and review completed work with customers
- Build and maintain relationships with repeat customers
- Maintain organized records and service management system data
What We're Looking For
- Strong customer service orientation and professional communication skills
- Ability to listen carefully and explain technical information clearly
- Organizational skills and attention to accuracy in documentation
- Comfort using computers and service management software
- Ability to multitask and handle multiple customer interactions
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Automotive service experience preferred but not required
