Payroll Manager

Employer Flexible is hiring a full-time Payroll Manager to lead payroll operations in North Houston, Harris County. You'll oversee a team of payroll specialists and manage accurate, timely payroll delivery across a diverse portfolio of Professional Employer Organization clients.

About the Role

As Payroll Manager at this growing PEO, you'll direct all payroll operations and lead a team of specialists while ensuring every paycheck meets compliance standards and client expectations. This is a leadership role where accuracy, attention to detail, and regulatory knowledge directly impact the success of our organization.

What You'll Do

• Manage and mentor a team of payroll specialists, maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance
• Oversee payroll processing and delivery across multiple clients and pay periods
• Ensure all payroll operations comply with federal, state, and local tax regulations and requirements
• Maintain detailed payroll records and coordinate closely with accounting and human resources teams
• Review and enhance payroll procedures to increase efficiency and reduce processing errors
• Work directly with clients to resolve payroll inquiries and accommodate special requests
• Monitor regulatory changes and implement updated compliance practices across operations
• Generate payroll reports and analytical summaries for client and internal stakeholder review

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience managing payroll operations and leading payroll teams
• Deep expertise in federal, state, and local payroll tax compliance and regulations
• Strong hands-on proficiency with payroll processing systems and accounting software
• Excellent project management and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple client accounts and competing priorities simultaneously
• Meticulous attention to detail with a demonstrated commitment to accuracy
• Understanding of Professional Employer Organization business operations and payroll delivery
