About the Role

This position supports the expansion of pediatric services by handling essential front‑end patient access functions. The schedule rotates Monday through Saturday, with shifts typically falling between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m., ensuring coverage during peak hours.

What You'll Do

• Greet patients and families, verify demographic and insurance information, and initiate the registration process.
• Perform scheduling for pediatric appointments, procedures, and follow‑up visits across multiple service lines.
• Complete pre‑registration activities, including insurance eligibility checks and benefit verification.
• Manage financial clearance tasks such as estimating patient responsibility, collecting co‑pays, and processing payments.
• Obtain authorizations and validate referrals in accordance with payer requirements.
• Conduct pre‑serviceability estimations and assist with collections when necessary.
• Maintain accurate electronic health record entries and ensure compliance with privacy regulations.
• Collaborate with clinical teams to resolve access‑related issues and improve patient flow.
• Answer incoming calls, respond to patient inquiries, and provide clear information about upcoming visits.

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework in health administration is a plus.
• Prior experience in patient access, medical office administration, or a related healthcare setting.
• Strong knowledge of insurance verification, authorization processes, and basic billing concepts.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate compassionately with diverse patients and families.
• Proficiency with electronic health record systems and standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Detail‑oriented with solid organizational abilities and the capacity to manage multiple priorities.
• Reliable and flexible to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
