Educational Diagnostician 2026-2027

Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District is hiring an Educational Diagnostician for the 2026-2027 school year in Cypress, Harris County. Position Summary

As an Educational Diagnostician, you will play a critical role in identifying and supporting students with diverse learning needs. Working within our special education and student services teams, you'll conduct thorough psychoeducational assessments, evaluate eligibility for special education services, and collaborate with educators and families to develop evidence-based interventions. Your expertise will help ensure every student receives the appropriate supports to succeed academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and interpret standardized assessments to evaluate student cognitive abilities, academic achievement, and social-emotional functioning
• Develop comprehensive diagnostic reports and recommendations for students referred for special education evaluation or gifted program consideration
• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and IEP teams to inform instruction and support plans
• Consult with staff on evidence-based interventions and response-to-intervention (RTI) strategies
• Communicate assessment findings and educational implications to families in clear, accessible language
• Maintain detailed records and documentation in compliance with federal and state special education regulations

Skills & Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher from an accredited college or university
• Texas Educational Diagnostician certification or Texas Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP) credential
• Minimum of three years of successful teaching experience
• Strong knowledge of psychoeducational assessment instruments and special education law
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
