We are representing a confidential intellectual property law practice seeking a Patent Attorney with chemical expertise to join their fully remote team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced patent professional to work with innovative clients on sophisticated chemical patent matters while enjoying true location flexibility across the United States.

Responsibilities

• Draft and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications involving chemical and related technologies
• Work directly with inventors, scientists, and technical leaders to understand complex innovations and develop patent protection strategies
• Prepare patent specifications, claims, amendments, responses to office actions, and related prosecution documents
• Analyze prior art and technical information to assess patentability and identify strategic opportunities
• Support IP portfolio management, freedom-to-operate analysis, and patent landscape projects
• Manage patent matters efficiently while maintaining high standards for accuracy and responsiveness
• Communicate complex chemical and legal concepts clearly to clients and colleagues
• Collaborate with distributed team members in a fully virtual practice environment
• Participate in client development activities with firm mentoring and support

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of directly relevant patent attorney experience
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
• JD from an accredited law school
• Active USPTO registration
• Admission to at least one U.S. state bar
• Demonstrated experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications in chemical technologies
• Strong technical writing, analytical, and communication skills
• Proven ability to work independently and efficiently in a remote environment
• Secure, professional, disruption-free home workspace
• U.S.-based and able to work primarily within Eastern, Central, or Mountain Time zones
• Excellent client service orientation and attention to detail

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: $120,000.00 - $190,000.00 per year
