Heartstrings Pet Hospice, In-Home Euthanasia & Aftercare is seeking a compassionate Part-Time Veterinarian in Minneapolis, MN to provide gentle, in-home end-of-life care for beloved pets and the families who love them.

About the Role

As a Part-Time Veterinarian with Heartstrings Pet Hospice, you will travel to families' homes throughout the Saint Paul and greater Minneapolis area, delivering palliative hospice care and peaceful in-home euthanasia services. This is a deeply meaningful role for a veterinarian who values unhurried, relationship-centered medicine and wants to support pet owners through one of life's most tender transitions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide in-home hospice, palliative, and end-of-life care for companion animals across the Saint Paul and Minneapolis region.
• Perform gentle, dignified in-home euthanasia guided by our values of Compassion, Dignity, and Respect.
• Guide families through quality-of-life assessments, comfort planning, and informed decision-making.
• Communicate with empathy and clarity, ensuring every pet owner feels supported before, during, and after each visit.
• Coordinate aftercare arrangements and maintain accurate, timely medical records.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree from an accredited institution.
• Active, unrestricted veterinary license to practice in Minnesota (or eligibility to obtain one).
• A calm, compassionate bedside manner and genuine comfort supporting grieving families.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to client homes across the Minneapolis–Saint Paul area.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in a mobile setting.
