About the Role

As an In-Home Euthanasia Veterinarian with Heartstrings Pet Hospice, you will travel to families' homes across Albuquerque and the surrounding communities — including Rio Rancho, Placitas, Corrales, Sandia Park, and Santa Fe — providing peaceful hospice and end-of-life services. This position is open on both a full-time and part-time basis, offering a career grounded in compassion, balance, and meaning rather than corporate quotas or restrictive non-compete clauses.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver gentle, in-home euthanasia and hospice care to pets throughout Albuquerque and nearby New Mexico communities.
• Guide pet families through end-of-life decisions with empathy, patience, and clear communication.
• Assess patient comfort and create individualized plans that prioritize dignity and pain relief.
• Coordinate aftercare arrangements with sensitivity and professionalism.
• Represent the values of a private, family-owned veterinary practice in every home visit.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree.
• Active veterinary license valid in the state of New Mexico (or eligibility to obtain one).
