Metro Consulting Associates seeks a Construction Engineer II to manage the technical and financial execution of construction and infrastructure projects at our Plymouth, Wayne County office. In this full-time role, you'll bridge field operations and office planning while advancing civil works from concept through delivery.
About This Position
As Construction Engineer II with Metro Consulting Associates, you'll own the design, planning, and regulatory coordination for a diverse portfolio of construction and engineering initiatives. You'll combine field insight with office expertise, ensuring projects meet technical specifications, budgets, and schedules while maintaining compliance with local and state standards.
Core Duties
- Design site layouts, grading plans, and utility systems for construction projects
- Develop and manage stormwater management systems and erosion control strategies
- Prepare permit applications and coordinate with regulatory agencies
- Serve as the primary liaison between office staff and field teams
- Manage technical aspects of project budgets and financial tracking
- Review and approve construction drawings and specifications
- Conduct site inspections and quality assurance assessments
- Collaborate on cost estimation and project scheduling
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- 3+ years of professional construction or engineering experience
- Knowledge of CAD software and design tools
- Understanding of building codes, construction standards, and regulatory requirements
- Strong communication skills for cross-functional coordination
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility preferred
