About the Role

As a Part-Time Veterinarian with Heartstrings Pet Hospice, you'll deliver in-home euthanasia and palliative care services throughout Ann Arbor and the surrounding Washtenaw County area. This role offers flexibility for veterinarians seeking meaningful, specialized work outside traditional clinic settings—whether you're transitioning to palliative care, balancing other professional commitments, or seeking a deeper connection with end-of-life medicine.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct in-home euthanasia and end-of-life consultations with compassion and clinical expertise
  • Provide palliative care assessments and recommendations for pets in hospice
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners about options and next steps
  • Maintain detailed medical records and ensure compliance with veterinary standards
  • Collaborate with our small, dedicated team to deliver consistent, high-quality care

What We're Looking For

  • Valid DVM license in good standing
  • Experience or genuine interest in palliative care, hospice, or end-of-life medicine
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially in emotionally sensitive situations
