Operations Supervisor, Manufacturing (Night Shift)

What This Role Involves

As a night shift operations supervisor, you'll manage the day-to-day manufacturing workflow, lead production teams, and ensure all operations meet quality and safety standards. You'll act as the primary point of contact for night shift personnel, coordinate with management and day shift leadership, and maintain accountability for production metrics and operational goals. Your leadership will directly impact throughput, quality output, and workplace safety across the manufacturing floor.

Core Duties

• Supervise and direct night shift production team members, including scheduling, task assignment, and performance management
• Monitor production schedules, coordinate workflow, and troubleshoot operational issues to maintain output targets
• Conduct quality control inspections and verify compliance with manufacturing standards and specifications
• Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment for all team members
• Track production metrics, document shift activities, and prepare reports for management review
• Identify process improvements and communicate recommendations to upper management
• Coordinate with day shift operations and cross-functional departments to ensure seamless handoffs and continuity
• Train and mentor production staff on procedures, equipment operation, and company standards

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Two or more years of manufacturing or operations experience
• Demonstrated supervisory or team leadership experience
• Strong understanding of production planning and quality control principles
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Ability to work the night shift schedule consistently
• Proficiency with production tracking systems and basic computer applications
• Physical ability to stand, walk, and move about the manufacturing floor throughout the shift
