About the Role
As Morning News Producer at KSWO, you'll oversee all editorial and operational elements of our early morning newscasts, working directly with anchors, reporters, and technical staff to create compelling, time-sensitive coverage. This is a hands-on position where editorial decisions impact thousands of households across our broadcast footprint.
What You'll Do
- Build and execute detailed rundowns for morning newscasts, managing story flow and time allocation
- Make real-time editorial decisions on news coverage and story prioritization
- Coordinate with newsroom teams to ensure seamless broadcast operations from pre-show setup through sign-off
- Monitor breaking news developments overnight and early morning, adjusting coverage as stories evolve
- Collaborate with reporters, photographers, and graphics designers on story presentation and visual storytelling
- Manage newscast timing, technical cues, and transitions to maintain professional, polished broadcasts
- Stay informed on local news trends and competitive coverage while upholding editorial standards
What We're Looking For
