About the Role

As a member of the rehabilitation team, you will work directly with patients recovering from injury, surgery, or illness, using evidence‑based techniques to improve strength, balance, and functional movement. The role emphasizes personalized care plans and collaborative goal setting with patients and their families.

What You'll Do

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patient mobility, pain levels, and functional limitations.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that align with physician orders and patient goals.
• Provide therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, gait training, and use of modalities such as ultrasound or electrical stimulation.
• Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, safety precautions, and injury prevention strategies.
• Document patient progress accurately in the electronic health record and communicate updates to the interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in departmental meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and ongoing professional development.
• Ensure all treatment areas comply with infection control and safety standards.

What We're Looking For

• A current, unrestricted Physical Therapist license in the state of Alabama.
• Graduation from an accredited physical therapy program (Master’s or Doctorate preferred).
• Strong clinical reasoning skills and experience with orthopedic, neurological, or geriatric populations.
• Excellent interpersonal communication; ability to motivate patients and work effectively with nurses, occupational therapists, and physicians.
• Proficiency with electronic medical documentation systems and basic office software.
• Commitment to continuing education and staying current with best practices in rehabilitation.
• Ability to work a flexible part‑time schedule, including occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
