What This Role Involves

As a Graduate Nurse in our New Graduate Residency Program, you'll provide direct patient care on a medical-surgical telemetry unit while learning the clinical foundations and decision-making skills that define excellent nursing. You'll work alongside experienced preceptors and clinical educators in a structured learning environment that balances patient responsibilities with your professional development. This residency prepares you for independent practice by combining real-world experience with ongoing education and feedback.

Core Duties

• Deliver safe, compassionate care to patients on medical-surgical and telemetry units
• Monitor telemetry systems and respond appropriately to cardiac rhythms and patient changes
• Perform routine clinical assessments, vital signs monitoring, and patient hygiene care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams including physicians, respiratory therapists, and specialists
• Document patient information accurately in electronic health records
• Participate in unit-based learning activities, journal clubs, and professional development sessions
• Develop critical thinking and clinical reasoning through structured preceptorship and case discussions

Skills & Qualifications

• Current unrestricted RN license in Texas (or ability to obtain)
• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited program
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
• Commitment to patient safety and quality care
• Willingness to learn and adapt as a new graduate nurse
• Physical ability to perform the demands of bedside nursing
