About the Role
As a Multimedia Journalist with WTMJ, you'll produce news content across broadcast, digital, and mobile platforms. This position combines traditional broadcast reporting with modern multimedia storytelling, allowing you to develop core competencies in video production, journalism writing, and digital content creation.
What You'll Do
- Report on local news stories relevant to Sheboygan and the greater Milwaukee market area
- Gather, verify, and present information for broadcast and online publication
- Conduct interviews and develop source relationships throughout your coverage area
- Produce video packages, written content, and multimedia news stories
- Meet daily and ongoing deadlines for news broadcast and digital platforms
- Collaborate with newsroom teams to identify and develop comprehensive story coverage
- Operate broadcast equipment and digital publishing tools
What We're Looking For
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Demonstrated experience in broadcast journalism, multimedia reporting, or news production
- Proficiency with video editing software and broadcast journalism technology
- Solid news judgment and the ability to identify compelling, newsworthy stories
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a newsroom environment
- Professional driving record (required for story assignments)
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and on-call hours as needed
