About the Role

As a Mortgage Loan Officer at Regions Bank, you'll serve as a trusted advisor to homebuyers and refinancing customers throughout the loan process. You'll evaluate financial situations, present tailored mortgage solutions, and shepherd applications from initial consultation to closing. This is a relationship-driven position where your expertise directly impacts clients' homeownership outcomes and your own earning potential.

What You'll Do

• Consult with applicants to understand financial goals, down payment capacity, and borrowing needs
• Explain mortgage programs, rates, terms, and closing costs in clear, jargon-free language
• Gather, organize, and verify financial documentation including tax returns, pay stubs, and bank statements
• Prepare complete loan applications and submit to underwriting for review
• Maintain compliance with federal and state mortgage lending regulations and company policies
• Monitor loan progress, respond to underwriting requests, and communicate updates to clients
• Build and nurture a growing book of business through referrals, repeat clients, and community relationships
• Meet sales targets and activity metrics while maintaining service quality

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in finance, business, or related field preferred
• Valid mortgage loan originator license (or ability to obtain) in Mississippi
• Strong communication and listening skills; ability to explain complex financial concepts simply
• Solid understanding of mortgage products, underwriting, and loan servicing
• Detail-oriented with accurate documentation and record-keeping habits
• Customer-focused mindset with proven ability to build rapport and close transactions
• Drive to meet targets and a comfort with sales-oriented work
• Proficiency with loan origination software and Microsoft Office; basic computer skills required
