Mental Health Specialist II – Acute Behavioral Services

Dungarvin is seeking a compassionate Mental Health Specialist II to join our acute behavioral services team in Winona, MN, where you'll provide critical support to individuals experiencing mental health crises and behavioral challenges. In this full-time position, you'll play a vital role within our interdisciplinary care team, helping clients stabilize and move toward recovery.

What This Role Involves

As a Mental Health Specialist II in our acute behavioral services department, you'll work directly with individuals in crisis or acute mental health situations, providing compassionate, evidence-based support in a structured healthcare environment. This position requires responsiveness to client needs, strong clinical judgment, and the ability to collaborate closely with psychiatrists, nurses, counselors, and social workers to deliver comprehensive behavioral health care in our Winona facility.

Your Responsibilities

• Provide direct support and behavioral monitoring to clients in acute mental health settings
• Implement individualized treatment plans and therapeutic interventions under clinical supervision
• Conduct behavioral observations and document clinical notes accurately and timely
• Assist with crisis de-escalation, safety assessments, and behavioral health interventions
• Support clients with activities of daily living and community reintegration planning
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment teams to address client needs and clinical goals
• Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all applicable healthcare regulations and organizational policies

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Current mental health certification (such as QMHP, CADC, or equivalent) or willingness to obtain within the first year of employment
• Prior experience in behavioral health, mental health services, or a related healthcare setting preferred
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to pass a background check and complete all pre-employment requirements
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with genuine empathy for individuals with mental health conditions
• Availability for flexible scheduling, including potential evening and weekend shifts
