Member of Technical Staff (MTS) Intern (m/f/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential fintech organization seeking a Member of Technical Staff (MTS) Intern for a 4–6 month full-time internship based in Berlin. This role offers end-to-end ownership of meaningful technical problems within production engineering environments.

You will:

• Design, build, test, and deploy software supporting operational workflows in a regulated domain
• Build with LLMs, retrieval systems, document intelligence, and agentic workflows while understanding where deterministic logic and human oversight are required
• Collaborate with engineers and domain professionals to prototype solutions and iterate based on real-world feedback
• Develop APIs, data pipelines, and integrations across modern and legacy systems
• Contribute to tests, evaluations, monitoring, and feedback loops that ensure system reliability in high-stakes environments
• Take clearly scoped problems from exploration and system design through implementation, deployment, and continuous improvement

What We're Looking For

Technical Foundation:

• Strong builder with software created beyond standard coursework—personal projects, open-source contributions, previous internships, research, or ambitious university projects
• Comfortable with data structures, algorithms, databases, APIs, and modern software development practices
• Write clear, maintainable code with attention to testing, reliability, security, edge cases, and failure modes

AI & Product Skills:

• AI-native approach using modern tools in your work; hands-on experience building with LLMs, agents, retrieval systems, or applied AI technologies strongly preferred
• Strong product intuition—you want to understand users and underlying problems rather than mechanically implementing requirements

Work Style:

• High agency: make progress without perfectly defined requirements, ask sharp questions, take responsibility for results
• Clear communication in English required; German helpful for certain projects but not mandatory
