The Opportunity

We're seeking a detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our growing pulmonary department at our Monroeville location (3824 Northern Pike, 15146). You'll be the bridge between patients and providers, ensuring smooth clinical operations while delivering compassionate care to individuals with lung and respiratory health concerns.

What You'll Do

  • Greet patients, complete intake paperwork, and document medical history in our electronic health record system
  • Record vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rate
  • Assist with pulmonary function testing and spirometry preparation
  • Support physicians during patient examinations and procedures
  • Perform basic phlebotomy and specimen collection as needed
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure HIPAA compliance
  • Answer patient questions and explain procedures to alleviate anxiety
  • Manage appointment scheduling and coordinate patient flow throughout the day
  • Clean and prepare examination rooms and medical equipment between patients

Qualifications

  • Completed medical assistant training program or equivalent on-the-job experience
  • Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential preferred
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact compassionately with patients of all backgrounds
  • Experience with electronic health records and medical office software
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation
  • Valid CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain
