Managing Quantity Surveyor (Construction) – 4 Day Work Week

The Role

We're seeking a Managing Quantity Surveyor ready to transition from project delivery into the SaaS sector. As Manager of Commercial Strategy, you'll leverage your construction expertise to guide commercial teams across multiple organizations. Instead of managing margins on individual projects, you'll shape how entire companies approach change management and claims defense. This is consultative client success work at scale – where your knowledge becomes the product and your impact multiplies across the industry.

Responsibilities

• Partner with customers' commercial leaders to identify where they're losing profit to change and disputes, demonstrating solutions to prevent margin leakage
• Drive platform adoption, ensuring site and office teams consistently capture changes, issues, and claims in real-time
• Coach customers on building stronger claims and defending disputes with documented, auditable records
• Serve as the commercial voice internally, informing product development based on real-world construction challenges
• Share best practices across the customer base, elevating industry standards and outcomes

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Significant experience as a Commercial Manager, Quantity Surveyor, or similar construction commercial role
• Deep understanding of how unmanaged change and poor record-keeping erode project profitability
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build trust and explain complex commercial issues clearly
• Strategic thinking – moving from problem diagnosis to solution implementation
• Genuine desire to create industry-wide impact rather than focusing on a single project

Advantageous:

• Experience advising multiple stakeholders or consulting across organizations
• Familiarity with SaaS platforms or digital transformation in construction
• Comfort leading workshops, training sessions, or customer presentations
• Ability to connect commercial pain points with practical technology solutions
