Manager, Product Designer – Capital One Software

Capital One seeks a Manager, Product Designer to lead design strategy for our B2B software platform in Tysons Corner, Fairfax County. This full-time leadership role combines design direction with team management, partnering with product leadership to deliver compelling digital experiences for enterprise users.

About the Role

You'll join Capital One Software as a senior design leader responsible for guiding the user experience vision and execution. In this foundational position, you'll collaborate directly with the Director of Product, overseeing both the strategic direction and hands-on delivery of best-in-class digital solutions for business users. Your focus will be on discovery, design thinking, and the translation of user insights into elegant, high-impact experiences.

Core Duties

• Lead the design strategy and vision for the B2B software platform
• Drive discovery and research initiatives to understand user needs and market opportunities
• Manage and mentor designers, fostering design excellence and professional growth
• Partner with product and engineering teams to translate design vision into reality
• Establish design standards and ensure consistency across digital experiences
• Present design rationale and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership

Requirements

• Significant experience as a Product Designer or Design Manager, with a portfolio showcasing B2B SaaS experience
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop design teams
• Expert-level proficiency with design and prototyping tools
• Strong foundation in user-centered design practices and research methodologies
• Excellent stakeholder communication and influence skills
• Strategic mindset balanced with execution capability
