Sr. Business Analyst – Business Cards & Payments

Capital One is hiring a Senior Business Analyst for our Business Cards & Payments team, based in McLean, Fairfax County. This full-time role offers the opportunity to help small business owners succeed with innovative financial solutions and services.

About the Role

As a Senior Business Analyst in Business Cards & Payments, you'll bridge the gap between customer needs and product innovation. You'll work directly with stakeholders, product teams, and engineering to understand market opportunities, define requirements, and drive solutions that make a measurable impact for small business owners.

What You'll Do

• Gather and analyze business requirements from internal stakeholders and customers to inform product strategy and roadmap priorities
• Document functional specifications and use cases that guide development teams through solution design and implementation
• Conduct market and competitive research to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for differentiation in the business payments space
• Partner with cross-functional teams including product management, technology, operations, and compliance to deliver end-to-end solutions
• Develop metrics and KPIs to measure solution success and inform ongoing optimization
• Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership and business partners

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of business analysis, product management, or related strategy experience
• Strong proficiency in requirements gathering, process mapping, and translating business needs into technical specifications
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
• Analytical mindset with solid data interpretation and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of payments systems, banking, or financial services (preferred)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
