Oakmont Education is hiring a Manager of Construction and Capital Projects in Montrose, Summit County. This full-time position leads the planning, execution, and oversight of capital construction and renovation projects while supporting facilities operations across our educational network. About the Role
In this position, you'll drive the day-to-day delivery of Oakmont Education's construction and capital projects. Reporting to the Head of Facilities and Capital Project Delivery, you'll manage project timelines, budgets, contractor relationships, and on-site operations to ensure each project meets quality standards and serves the needs of our schools. Your leadership ensures that our facilities support student learning and operational excellence throughout the network.
What You'll Do
- Lead planning, budgeting, and execution of capital construction and renovation initiatives
- Coordinate with design professionals, contractors, vendors, and school administrators to align projects with educational priorities
- Oversee on-site construction activities, safety compliance, and quality assurance throughout project lifecycles
- Manage project documentation, permits, contracts, and regulatory compliance requirements
- Monitor budgets, track expenditures, and control costs to keep projects on financial track
- Support facilities operations across the school network and address infrastructure needs as they arise
- Communicate project progress, milestones, and challenges to leadership and school teams
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of construction project management or capital facilities experience
- Strong working knowledge of construction processes, building codes, and safety standards
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects from inception through completion
- Excellent coordination and communication skills with diverse stakeholders
- Experience with project documentation, contracts, and regulatory compliance
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Proficiency with project management software and standard business applications
- Willingness to work on-site and travel between school locations as needed
