About the Role
As a high school special education paraprofessional, you'll work under the supervision of certified special education teachers to provide direct support to students with individualized education plans (IEPs). This is a part-time position focused on helping students reach their academic and behavioral goals while fostering inclusion in the general education setting.
What You'll Do
- Assist special education teachers in instructional delivery, classroom preparation, and student assessment activities
- Provide one-on-one and small-group academic support to students with diverse learning needs
- Monitor student behavior and implement behavior intervention strategies in accordance with IEP goals
- Help reinforce classroom expectations and support positive student interactions
- Maintain accurate records and communicate progress to special education staff
- Support students with organizational skills, time management, and social-emotional development
- Assist with special education program logistics and materials management

- Ability to work effectively with adolescents who have diverse abilities and learning differences
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Patient, respectful approach to working with secondary-age students
- Experience with students with disabilities is a plus
