Manager, Compensation (Remote, IL, US)

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential consumer goods organization seeking a Manager, Compensation to join their team remotely. This role manages day-to-day compensation operations for assigned business units, serving as an internal consultant to HR partners and leadership on compensation policies, procedures, and solutions. You'll participate in managing the annual compensation cycle and other strategic plan design projects in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with HR business partners to understand business needs and advise on compensation policies and solutions
• Participate in the design and communication of compensation programs that align with business strategy, ensuring market-competitive and compliant program design
• Participate in salary survey processes, analyzing survey data and market trends to assess compensation competitiveness and make recommendations aligned with recruiting and retention strategies
• Manage the year-end planning process and planning tools, partnering with IT, HR business partners, and business leaders
• Perform job evaluations for business roles and gain stakeholder alignment as needed
• Manage all compensation plan documentation and use it as the basis for educating client groups
• Stay current on compensation trends and use insights for plan design recommendations
• Lead ad hoc projects and initiatives as required
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local pay regulations

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of direct experience in broad-based compensation
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
• Experience in manufacturing or consumer packaged goods preferred
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills required for effective consulting and partnering with HR business partners
• Excellent project management skills with strong analytical and organizational capabilities
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with cross-functional teams
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude with employees
