Maintenance Mechanic – 2nd shift

Stratas Foods is hiring a full-time Maintenance Mechanic for the 2nd shift at our manufacturing facility in Hillside, NJ. If you have mechanical expertise and want to support food production operations at a modern industrial plant, we'd like to hear from you.

What This Role Involves

As a Maintenance Mechanic on our 2nd shift team, you'll keep our Hillside manufacturing equipment and production lines in top working order. You'll perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical issues, and execute repairs on industrial machinery that powers our food manufacturing operations. Working both independently and alongside our maintenance crew, you'll minimize equipment downtime and contribute directly to plant efficiency and safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance inspections and preventive servicing on production equipment
• Diagnose mechanical failures and execute repairs on manufacturing machinery
• Maintain comprehensive maintenance records and work logs for all equipment serviced
• Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns during 2nd shift operations
• Collaborate with production staff to schedule maintenance that minimizes production disruption
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and equipment manuals
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols and help maintain a safety-focused workplace culture
• Organize and maintain the maintenance shop, tools, and spare parts inventory

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as a maintenance mechanic or in industrial equipment maintenance
• Strong troubleshooting and mechanical repair abilities
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and basic diagnostic equipment
• Ability to read technical specifications and maintenance documentation
• Solid mechanical aptitude and problem-solving mindset
