Maintenance Engineer (m/w/d) – Automation & Instandhaltung

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential logistics organization operating state-of-the-art fulfillment infrastructure in the Berlin area. As a Maintenance Engineer specializing in automation and maintenance, you will work with modern intralogistics, conveyor, and automation systems from manufacturers including Apollo, Qimarox, and Regal Rexnord.

Your core responsibilities include:

• Troubleshooting and repair: Identify and resolve electrical and mechanical failures in automated material-handling systems, collaborating closely with operations teams to minimize downtime
• Vendor coordination: Partner directly with equipment suppliers to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues
• Root cause analysis: Investigate recurring failures, implement sustainable improvements, and prevent future occurrences
• Preventive maintenance: Execute scheduled maintenance programs to maximize equipment availability and system performance
• Continuous improvement: Initiate and implement optimization projects to enhance system efficiency and reliability in a high-volume environment processing up to 10,000 orders daily

What We're Looking For

• Completed technical apprenticeship with Meister or Techniker certification, and/or Bachelor's/Master's degree in a technical discipline such as mechanical engineering, mechatronics, automation, or chemical engineering
• 7+ years of hands-on experience in technical maintenance or facility maintenance engineering roles
• Practical knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems with demonstrated experience working on automated conveyor systems, material-handling equipment, or intralogistics installations
• Familiarity with CMMS software tools and PLC-based control systems (SPS-Steuerungssysteme)
• Strong communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach
• Self-directed working style with initiative and solution-focused problem-solving abilities
• Fluent German and English language skills

This is a full-time position based in Berlin (Falkensee area) working in a shift system with a 40-hour work week.

Pay

The client offers an annual salary starting at €70,000 gross with performance-based reviews. Compensation details will be discussed during the interview process.
