Leiter:in Buchhaltung (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential manufacturing organization seeking a Leiter:in Buchhaltung (m/w/d) to lead the financial accounting function. In this role, you will independently manage the financial accounting department and provide both technical and organizational leadership to the team. As a hands-on leader, you will contribute directly to closing processes while focusing primarily on organization, quality assurance, process improvement, and preparing financial information for management.

• Lead and organize the financial accounting function both technically and organizationally, steering content-related tasks and team coordination
• Take responsibility for monthly and annual financial statements according to HGB, validate closing positions and trends, and ensure comprehensive documentation
• Coordinate collaboration with auditors, tax advisors, and other external partners, clarifying accounting matters in alignment with the finance leadership
• Further develop management reporting and accounting-related analyses, investigate budget variances, cashflow and earnings developments, and prepare decision-making materials for management
• Establish and monitor accounting standards, documentation procedures, internal guidelines, and measures for sustainable quality assurance and error prevention
• Lead a key initial project to select and implement a new financial accounting or ERP solution with the goal of standardizing and automating recurring processes as comprehensively as possible

What We're Looking For

• Completed degree in business administration, economics, or qualification as Bilanzbuchhalter (m/w/d), or comparable practical qualification
• Multiple years of professional experience in accounting and experience in a technical or organizational leadership role
• Excellent knowledge of HGB and solid experience in financial accounting, closing processes, validation and analysis of financial statement positions
• Proficient use of ERP or financial accounting systems and Excel; ideally experience in analyzing and modeling financial data
• Structured, independent, reliable, and discreet working style with high affinity for numbers and quality; ability to make professional assessments even in complex situations
• Clear communication of complex content to management, internal interfaces, auditors, and external advisors; good English language skills complete your profile
