Lead Software Engineer – Performance Marketing

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential mobile gaming publisher seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join their Performance Marketing division in Paris. Our client operates at scale in the mobile entertainment space, and this role will focus on leading their playable advertising initiatives across multiple game franchises.

As a technical leader within the playable ads team, you'll balance hands-on development with strategic oversight, driving innovation in interactive ad formats while mentoring a distributed team of developers and strategists.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a small team of playable ads developers and strategists embedded within product-focused squads
• Maintain hands-on involvement in playable ad production, directly contributing to creation and iteration of high-quality interactive creatives
• Oversee operational workflows, tooling, and best practices for the playable ads function
• Drive innovation in playable ad formats by exploring new mechanics, interactions, and creative concepts
• Collaborate with growth managers and creative strategists to align on franchise-level priorities and objectives
• Benchmark competitor playable ads and analyze performance data to continuously improve production quality and effectiveness
• Serve as technical and strategic reference point for the team on both development and marketing performance topics
• Support rollout of playable ads across multiple game titles, adapting formats to each product's creative strategy
• Contribute to defining and evolving the playable ads team's vision, standards, and processes

What We're Looking For

• 4+ years of experience in playable ad or game development
• Hands-on maker mindset with ability to balance production work and coordination responsibilities
• Experience with playable ad development tools and frameworks such as Unity, Cocos Creator, or similar platforms
• Knowledge of object-oriented programming and web game development
• Practical experience with AI-assisted development tools and asset generation platforms
• Solid understanding of mobile marketing performance metrics and creative testing methodologies
• Proven ability to mentor and coach engineering peers
• Entrepreneurial mindset with adaptability to fast-paced environments
• Excellent teamwork and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Fluency in English required; French language skills are a plus
